Infrared Security System
Envipco has developed an Infrared Security System (ISS), a camera-based system that is able to analyze invisible infrared inks, as well as visible inks, to detect logo labels and barcodes. In reading the security code, the ISS can determine whether the beverage container is eligible for a refund.
As part of this technology, Envipco owns and leases the IP for German deposit security system required by the federal government. This technology is currently being used in Denmark and Germany. The technology can read the security labels of each member country in Europe. Along this same principle, ISS technology can be applied to different states in the United States to ensure that beverage containers are returned for the redemption value that matches the deposit paid for the container.
